Rea had a turn too!

Now it's time to collect the eggs.

Landen playing in the sand. MJ let them bust out the hose......major cool points there too!

Reagan holding a little toad that Aunt Misty spotted. After we got a glimpse she spared its life by taking it to a far away tree out of the way of a lot of little feet!

We took a field trip to an old one room school house that Mary Jean and her 4H group restored years ago.

Brett ringing the bell....once of several times, naturally.

MJ telling the kids about the kids that used to go to this school....when they went the flag only had 48 stars!

Each cousin had a book at their desk and gave a quick lesson on a page they selected. Reagan talked about robins.

Brett talked about boats.

Then they all did a craft while the babies all slept.

Mary Jean played the piano while the kids sang and danced along.

Brett writing his name on the chalk board.

I love this picture.....did they have fun......the smile here says it all!

Brett using the abacus.

Rea using hers as Abby looks on.

MJ explaining how the school kids had chores each morning. Some had the job of retrieving water.

Here's the outside of the school.

Some pretty flowers around the school house. I'm a sucker for wild flowers.

Bella, Makenzi, Jack, Brett, Addison, Brady, Reagan, and Abby posing in front of the oat field.

Quote from Brett, "what's in these things." Funny boy.

My kiddos in front of the oats. We learned that not many folks plant oats anymore.

Reagano.

Here's Wilbur all carted up to give rides. Abby and Jack's Dad, Jon, stopped out to give the kids rides on the horse. Thanks Jon...and thanks Wilbur!! Here are Abby and Brett during their turn.

Jack, Reagan and Makenzi's turn! Notice Reagan's death grip on Jon's arm...so brave...super cute!
Hold on Kenz!!

Some of the pretty flowers in MJ's garden.

Bella and Brett....two total goof balls!!!!

Addison checkin' out the saucer.

MaKenna holding Addison and Brady. She LOVES babies!!

MaKenna, Reiley, Brett and Reagan in the wagon. Pat pulled them around the farm in the wagon with the mower.....Brett wants to move there!

Brett making cotton candy!

Reagan enjoying her cotton candy!

Reiley making some cotton candy.

Brady, Pat, and Reagan working on stepping stones.

Randy and Makenna working on stepping stones.

Reiley supervising Brett writing his name on his stone.

Emerson did a great job watering the floor, cleaning the tractor and filling the cement bucket with water!!
Time for smoothies.
The kids and I went to Scott's aunt and uncle's farm in late July. Aunt Pat spoiled them rotten with smoothies, wagon rides on the mower, stepping stones, cotton candy, and root beer floats. All of this on top of the chickens, play houses, trampoline and other excitement on the farm. It's no wonder they both want to live on a farm! They had a great day with their cousins.

Wizard of Oz

Reagan and I took in a play in July at the Englert in Iowa City. The Old Creamery performers did The Wizard of Oz and it was awesome!!! Reagan was in heaven and loved it as well!! A great Mommy, Reagan night!!

End of T ball

The end of July brought the end of T ball for Brett. Here are some snap shots of his last game...topped off with an ice cream bar. Nice job Brett!!!

Slip N Slide

The big kids are loving the slip n slide this summer. Brett's friend from preschool, Julius, came to play the other day and they all had a blast!!

Library, fountain, park

Reagan and Brett enjoying the tire swing at the park. Brett spent most of his time watching some college kids play basketball...whatever works!
Brady and Addison chillin' on the blanket during our picnic.

Reagan wanted to play but didn't want to get wet....sorry sweetie...ya can't have it all, all of the time!! Believe it or not I encouraged her to just get wet and enjoy it....big surprise, I know.

Brett already had trunks on from camp so he was game for the fountain!
Sometime mid July we scooped Brett up from summer camp and headed out for the library, a walk through the water fountain in the plaza in downtown Iowa City and then headed to a park for a picnic....needless to say I was as pooped as the kiddos that day!!! We had a great time tough.
