Morning Igloo
One morning before I could even consume a cup of chai tea Brady was requesting repeatedly could I make him an igloo. I'm glad he has such faith in my abilities, but an igloo? He'd been watching curious George that morning and George was building one. Brady usually likes to try the things Curious George does so I always hope George isn't TOO curious!!! Brady had to settle for a blanket fort, but he and Addy were both pleased with the result!
Mommy is 35!
I had a nice birthday. It was on a Tuesday, which is our crazy busy night but the day was good. It started with breakfast with some of my gal pals downtown while the little two were at preschool. Scott and Brett made a cake. I was gifted a house keeper, which is awesome! Also got a waffle maker to make some fun cookies on and will be getting a book I've been wanting but was out of stock when Scott looked for it. I'm loving life and am happy to be in my mid thirties.
Fall Baseball 2012
![]() | |
We did Fall ball this year. No blaring sun, which was nice. It's a shorter season than Spring ball and it was nice for Scott's young team to get in some extra practice!! They did great!

Getting the signal to go HOME! I'm sure I was yelling, "RUN!" as well. Just in case he didn't see Randal sending him! lol

Poser
The team was smaller for this league and a few times we were short on players so Reagan jumped in a played. She did awesome, got some good practice in for softball season, and showed those boys what was UP!!
Know why I love this man? Cuz he's better at things than he realizes. He's a good coach. Granted he gets frustrated, who doesn't, but he's making a difference in these kiddo's lives and that's fun to see!
Headed back to the truck after a game. Addison insisted on helping Rob with the ball bucket. Big helper!
Fall CSA
We opted to do the Fall CSA too, so we had 8 weeks of goody boxes that looked a lot like this. The final box also had a strawberry cider in it made from berries from their farm. Seeing this picture makes me miss getting those boxes each week!
Mini Tarts
I made some really healthy fruit tarts (minus that glob of frosting) and the reviews were, meh. I didn't mind them, but we'll keep trying for that go to healthy homemade snack.
Planting trees
My hole diggers.
It's getting more serious now.
The tree (Tulip Poplar) is in. Addison is adding back some dirt.
Brady is watering.
All done! On to the next one!

Labor Day beach trip
We hadn't been to the beach all summer really and we hadn't seen the Alarids in a while so over Labor Day we headed for an afternoon of fun. The big kids had fun catching waves.
The little two had fun making sure their buckets and shovels still worked.
Daddy taking the little two for a toe test in the water. It was overcast, as you can see, but that's much better beach weather than blaring hot sun.
I call this his Baywatch moment.
Miss Stephanie showing him a widdle baby crab.
Reagan on the water.
See these two pictures? This is how you get sand in your butt...LOTS of sand! lol
Beach babe and more sand in the crack.
Caitlyn playing with Addison.
Brett working smarter not harder when hauling water!!
Big things happening here. So intense!
Afterwards we headed for some pizza and it was BIG pizza. Brady was crackin' up.
Addison looks to Brady to see how the heck to eat the thing.
Nom. Nom. Nom.
The "B" section. Brady, Brett, and Bryant
It was raining in New Bern when we got home so some puddle jumping was in order. They were already wet and headed for the tub, so I let them think I was being extra awesome. Hee, hee. I really think it probably saved my house from some of the sand we brought home. Fun day!

Piano
Snapped a picture of Reagan practicing her piano. Lessons are going well, she really enjoys her teacher and is progressing from what I can tell. Go Reagan!!

Let there be LIGHT!
One of our To Do projects has been to improve the lighting in our kitchen.. I had a guy come do an estimate and nearly choked on the estimate (almost $1,000). Also, he wanted to mess with the drywall WAY more than we were wanting or thought was necessary. Scott then called a buddy that is a general contractor around our area. His daughter and Reagan play softball together. He said he could do it very simply and in less than a full day and for $250 if we bought the supplies. OK!!! So we cut out our circles to figure out placement.
Big Dave (as we call him) came and hung out with the little two and me one day and put up 6 recessed can lights, added a dimmer switch, and an additional/separate switch for the lights over the sitting area. Thanks, Big Dave! For versatility we had him do cans over the 'bar' sitting area and Scott then put pendent light converters in and we really are happy with the way it all turned out. The lighting is 100% better than it was, no more shadows cast on your work space. Hooray for talented friends! With Brady asking a million questions Dave earned his $$ that day!!! lol Glad he worked us in.

First day of school, 2012
Creekside Elementary, New Bern, NC Reagan 4th grade with Mrs. Ireland. Brett 1st grade with Ms. Miller.
Getting on the bus. Hooray for a year where we were duty experts, no "firsts" this year, yay! And oh how I love that our house is the bus stop! YIPPEE!

They shoot, they SCORE!
Some friends were moving to Pensacola and weren't taking their basketball hoop so I bought it from them for $50. Scott thought if was a piece of junk, but replaced two bolts and it is just fine. We've had a fun time using it, that's for sure! Scott was out there quite a bit with the kids and we did a lot of two on two games on good weather days. It's a fun family activity that gets our heart's pumping. It was a good purchase and a new one like it in the store is around $200....no thanks! The little two here are watching Daddy and the big kids and playing chalk. They get to shoot a basket or two each time too which keeps them happy.
Back to School BBQ at the Fisher's
We were at the Fisher's for a BTS weekend BBQ and these little two were pretty darn cute sitting on the step with their watermelon. Here's a few clips....it's fun to see how their little personalities shine through here. Cutie pies.
Sealed with a kiss!
Some of the ladies, and so when I'm old I remember I'll list them: Lindsay, Me, Jolinda (holding Aubrey), Natalie. I wanted A to wear pig tails and she wasn't having it so I said I'd do pig tails too, she took the bait and I survived the harassment for wearing braids! lol
