Pirate Invasion

While researching coastal towns where I could escape for a weekend alone I came across Beaufort, North Carolina's town festival....Pirate Invasion. They reenact the pirate invasions that happened back in the late 1700's. I thought it would be right up Brett's alley with......

pirate ships.....

guns......

...pirates....

and sword fights......but, the cannon and gun fire freaked him out......so he was a spectical the whole time, it was HOT, and I think I was the only one that REALLY enjoyed it. When we got home I asked Brett what he liked the best and naturally he said, the guns and cannons and the shooting....SERIOUSLY....shoot me!

The "towns folk" made up of a small 30 some man malitia was victorious over the invading pirates that were trying to over run Beaufort...yay!!

Cory's wet down

Our good friends Cory and Darci live in Jacksonville which is 40 minutes from our house. Cory got promoted recently so we got to go to their place to celebrate. The humidity made my camera fog over...ugh. Cute pic anyways. Cory and Scott went to college together and joined the Marine Corps together way back in 1997, I think it was. They went to boot camp together as well. Darci and I went to NIACC together too. We go way back, as they say. We're so happy to be close to them again!!
