Thanksgiving Feast at Temple Preschool

 The kiddos made some cute place mats for their feast. Love all the hand print art they do. Apparently neither of them was too thrilled about getting their pictures taken when they did them. lol

My little Indians. Daddy couldn't get away from work to come to the feast so we invited Randal to come down from his office to eat with us. We had a fun time eating turkey! Gobble, gobble.

Marine Corps Ball 2012

 You can barely see him cuz I was afraid to move, but the one in the white cover is Scott. He was on the sword detail for the ceremony.They did a great job even when someone got out of order and started the Commandant's message before dismissing them. Hooray nobody passed out!!

I had the sitter take this one when we got home. I didn't get a pic of Scott in his sword get up and wanted one. Handsome guy. :) We had a nice time even if it was on a Tuesday! At least it was in town and not a few hours away like it has been in the past. Afterwards we did go to the bar at the Harvey Mansion for a drink or two, but it was a pretty early evening.

 I walked into the kitchen one day to find Miss Addy doing the dishes. That's my girl!

 

Every Monday we have something at the church either MOPS or Bible Study and Randal sneaks these two turkeys a sucker. Spoiled.

Brett had a pumpkin painting activity for scouts and then they had us carve it then plant some of the seeds back in the pumpkin. His did pretty good!

A warm fall day in Eastern North Carolina. The little two and grabbed some lunch and went to a playground downtown that we hadn't been to in awhile. Cuties.

Fun Night at the school

I avoid Fun Night at all costs, because masses of kids and parents jammed in the halls is bad enough, but add my two naughty (then) three year olds and I just say, no thanks! Luckily, Ms. Sarah next door was taking her kids and invited our big two to go. More power to ya! They had fun and I kept my sanity!

The hunted

 The neighbor Jason is a hunter. The kids watched him take the meat off one of the deer he got this season. They weren't that grossed out.....hurl.

Now remember, we had just been on a mountain vacation where we fed the black bears at the Bear Zoo then Mr. Jason shoots one....THAT they felt a bit bad about. It was bear season and he was waiting for a bigger one (if you can believe that) but this fella started to climb the tree he was in......bye, bye bear!

The Great Pumpkin on the Smoky Mt. Railroad

Let vacation begin (Ok, it was in Oct.! Mom and Dad started in Iowa and we left early in the morning and we made it to there within 20 minutes of each other. We unpacked and got settled and relaxed. Then.......on our first full day in Western NC we went to ride a train on the Great Smoky Mountains Railroad in Bryson City, NC. It was a good thing I called to check because this was the last dy for The Great Pumpkin ride.

We ate there too then rode the train back. We then went to the train museum to see the models in action. They were interactive so the kids could push the buttons to make the different features go. A fun, soggy, wet, adventure!
