Carving Pumpkins, 2010

Addison is digging for seeds and yucky slime....she had no reservations about gutting the pumpkin.
Brady, however, used a spoon! LOL. Such a clean boy, so like his Daddy. He wasn't too sure about the yuck but did dive in a bit later.

Here's Brett man cleaning out his pumpkin. He and Reagan loved their big pumpkins that I picked up at the local grocery store....after the pumpkin patch I promised larger ones for them the carve....their pumpkins ended up costing me $2 each...SCORE!

Here's Reagan cleaning out her pumpkin. Her only real concern was that we were going to cook the seeds. We did and they were yummy as always. We did learn that when you live a warmer climate like coastal North Carolina you really should wait until the day before or day of Halloween to carve your pumpkins....boy were they nasty by the time Trick or Treat came around....and I mean NASTY!

Four kiddos preparing for carving.

Ohhhh, what a big, "punkeen"!

"helloooo, helloooo, hellooo, hellooo, hellooooo......."

"Oh, I spot another seed! Let me get it so I can put it on my belly with this other one!"

"Ha, ha, ha, I got it!!"

Reagan carving away.

Brett enlisted some help from Dad.....good idea!

Crazy babies!

Binki addiction at it finest!!

Good hiding place, Addison!

Oh look, brother Brady fits too!!

Jumpin' beans

Reagan and Addison riding the shock waves Brett is making on the trampoline, I'm sure.

My attempt to grab a picture of the four of them.....and Brady lays one on his sister...cuties.

Big boy.....he likes to run, run, run, around the trampoline.

Sisters

Reagan is such a good big sister!! She rarely turns the babies down when they approach her with a book. I love Addison's little crossed feet too. She's so comfy in her sister's lap.

Stink pots.

Awwwh.

I love it when they hug....they're is nothing that is more cute, except for maybe when they hold hands while we pray before dinner! The second photo is Addison's reaction to me telling her she was such a nice girl. Stinker.

Here's Brady searching for Addison's button (belly button)....he found it!

My futures so bright, I've got to wear shades!!

Not sure why, but Elton John comes to mind each time I see this picture. Such an expressive little stinker. I love it!

I love this picture. It looks to me like they are deep in conversation. Addison LOVES those red shoes...even went to bed with them on......my motto: choose your battles!

Mumfest 2010 New Bern, NC

A log canoe....we decided that took a LONG time to make!

Reagan and Brett in the Tryon Palace gardens. Beautiful.

Statue in the garden.

Nothing beats old bricks, iron gates and squiggly trees. Such a beautiful place.

Four Schmitz kids.

Brett and Reagan with the ammo.

Purdy flowers.

Me likey.

The Tryon Palace. The orginal Capitol Building of the colony of North Carolina. It served as a home to the Governor's family and to the NC government.
Reagan and Brett in the guard shack....they LOVED the trap door they were standing on. Brett decided they hide down there.....Daddy rained on our fantasy and said it was for ammo.

One of the 300 New Bern bears that are around town to celebrate the 300 years New Bern has been a city.

Pepsi Cola was born in New Bern....don't dare ask for a Coke in this town!!

Reagan and Brett with another bear.

The real reason we went down to Mumfest.....greasy food!

Addison and Brady jumped right in and loved the corn dogs and blooming onion!!

One of the churches downtown had a little pumpkin patch so we let the kiddos each pick a pumpkin.

Two punkin's with pumpkins.

Everyone has chosen theirs! Time to go home.

Brett goes to the Fire Station

And we have some more preschool art!! F is for firetruck. Brett and his Pre K classmates went to the local fire station for a field trip a couple of weeks ago. Brett proudly told them that his Uncle Tom who is now an angel was a fire fighter. That's my sweet boy! He also asked a lot of questions about their axes.....he learned it has 5 different uses.
