Cousins

My sister and her kids came to town last week. I'd say it was so Scott and I could go to a funeral of a friend's mother, she might say it was to unload more baby stuff and kid's clothes from her house to mine!!

I have to admit, this time the four older kids stressed me out...not sure what it is, but when they get together chaos is certain...I think Amanda would agree....they were a tad naughty this time around. We did get a chance to go to the Children's Museum this time since Rea was off of school. Here Brett and Tyler are pictured making pizzas in the pizza parlor. Reagan and Jana are rolling balls in the ball room. Excuse Jana's hair, Reagan did it for her......I don't see a future in hair styling for the girl!! There's another of them all in the farm house. I thought this was going to be an awesome pic, of course Brett was a stinker....one is always having an off moment when I want a group photo. We tried again just before we parted ways...and captured a cute group hug!! Moments later 3 of the 4 ran off (moments after a lecture to not run off) so here they are....noses on the wall at the mall. Stinkers. I'm sure they'd tell you they had a blast, Amanda and I might tell you otherwise! Again, stinkers!

Heart Walk

On Sat. the kids and I did a American Heart Assoc. heart walk with our friends the Grabers. Scott was out of town so we needed something to get us up and moving. We look pretty soggy due to the rain, but had a fun time especially the cookies and games at the end. All of the Schmitz children slept well last night...I guess they should walk a mile+ every day!!!

Addison and Brady - 3 months old

Addison and Brady are 3 months old now. They are doing well. They sleep 7-9 hrs a night and are on a pretty decent schedule. Yippy!!! Addison finally weighs 9lbs and Brady is probably around 12 now. He's got her by a good 3lbs, I'd say. Addison still has issues with keeping her food down and we think that might contribute to the weight difference in them so she goes for regular weight checks at the doctor to make sure she stays on the chart. We switched her to a soy formula and although she spits up some, it is way less than before. Hopefully this weeks weight check will show great progress due to the new formula. We'll see. Other than that they just talk and coo away until they want to eat or sleep...all is good.
Here are some recent pics. Scott's mom came for a couple of nights while Scott was out of town this week. That's always a big help and the kids love it too. I'm glad she came so I could get some things done, which included a hair cut...yippy. I'm liking the new, shorter cut...we'll see though when I have to style it myself!!!!

Reagan's art show

Tonight we went to the art show at Reagan's school. She was very exited to show us her work. I embarrassed her by taking pictures of her with her art, but I didn't care....that's my job!!! We chatted with Ms. Wunder, the art teacher and she revealed that Reagan told her that when she gets bigger she plans to be an art teacher like she is. That would make Grandma Debbie and Aunt Misty very proud!!! They're the artsy ones in our families. In the last picture Rea is pointing to her clown she made, it's the second one from the left...with the big head, as she told us. Funny.
The PTO was super smart and held a book fair in the gym so the kids got a couple of books too. Brett got a Cars book and one about a sheep playing baseball (go figure) and Reagan got two early reader books so we can keep plugging away at learning how to read on our own....such a task.

Cousins and Brett

After the baptism lunch last weekend we were able to snap a picture of all of my parent's grand children. Every time we attempt this it seems one of them is having a moment. This time it was Brett's turn to be the stinker. They are all looking so I guess it counts!!!
Reagan is pictured signing my two year old niece's casted arm. Poor baby. She's a climber and will do anything to get a piece of chocolate...gotta love her. Anyways, she was climbing on their bar stool at home to retrieve a piece of chocolate from the kitchen counter and fell and fractured her elbow. Three weeks in a hot pink cast and some therapy will get the chocoholic back to 100%...not that the cast is slowing her down...she now just has a weapon and is climbing just as much from what I've heard. Silly Bella.
Brett has been longing to go to gymnastics since Reagan gets to go. I've told him that in our house you have to be 4 to do gymnastics. That's short for I don't want to pay for you both to go quite yet!!! He has a knack for waiting til the ultimate LAST minute when going to the bathroom and sometimes waits too long, if you know what I mean. Well, I also told him I cannot sign him up for these types of things if I cannot trust that he'll use the potty when he needs to and quits the waiting game. Well, he's been doing better (yay, for that threat working) and hasn't requested my presence at each visit to the bathroom either (thank goodness) so on Wed. we visited the gym for Lunch Bunch. For $6 we get to go to the gymnastics gym from 113o-1230 and play on all of the equipment. He loved it....probably the best day of his life if you asked him, ha!!! All went well and the babies slept through it so I think we can manage to do it again...probably every other week, then he'll feel like he's doing it and I'm not having to pay for an actual lesson. I was pretty stinking worn out that night, but am glad Brett had a fun day. He also got to make a 'river' in the sandbox with no questions asked by Mommy....I know, I must be getting worn down. I'm choosing my battles with the little man and am slowly trying to let him grow up.

Addison and Brady were baptized on March 29th. We had it done at the church I grew up going to in Story City which is where Scott and I were married, and where Reagan and Brett where both baptized as well. We're glad they let us come to town and do it so that we could have them all baptized at the same place. So little in there lives will happen at the same place due to our constant moving. We felt blessed that it could happen. After church my parents hosted a lunch at their house. It was great to introduce that babies to family members that hadn't yet had the chance to see them.
Both Addison and Brady where great during the service...not a peep. I was a bit concerned that Addison might fuss when the water went on her head and rather she stretched back into the baptismal fount as if saying, Take me!!! It was super cute. Addison's god parents are Misty (Scott's brother Philip's wife) and my brother Adam. Brady's god parents are Scott's brother Jeff and my sister, Amanda. Thanks all for making that a great day.

Kiddos

Here are some random pics. Brett is lookin' big holding his little sister. The other day he came up to here while she was in her bouncy seat and said, "hello there most beautiful girl ever." How sweet. I think she's got a protector in him...look out boys!!
Reagan is chillin' with Brady. She's a great helper, but freaks when they spit up!!
Brett has been begging me for watermelon every single time we are at the store. I finally gave in and he was in heaven. Too funny.
I plopped Brady in the Bumbo chair to watch some cartoons with Brett. He wouldn't take his eyes off the peanut butter and jelly...it was hilarious.
Here's Grandma Vicki, Scott's mom if you couldn't tell, mastering holding both babes at once. She's been a great helper and has come for a lot of visits. Thanks Grandma!!
